COVID-19 Guidance
Dishman Baptist Church takes seriously our commission to glorify God and to care for the congregation. The following information is provided to help you determine when you may need to remain at home.
First and foremost, we ask that if any person is experiencing any cold related symptom that they stay home from church. We cannot stress this enough. If a person has been exposed to someone with COVID or “at risk of COVID”, please follow the guidelines below for quarantine.
A person who has been in close contact with someone who has COVID or with someone who is at-risk-of-COVID.
Close Contact with someone who has COVID:
Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
Close Contact with someone who is At-Risk-Of-COVID (this is a Dishman Specific Policy and will not be found in CDC Guidelines):
Someone who was within 6 feet of a person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period who is living with an infected person and, as a result, feels that it is necessary to be tested.
What counts as close contact?
- You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more
- You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19
- You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them)
- You shared eating or drinking utensils
- They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you
Steps to take if you must quarantine from Church Stay home and monitor your health
- Stay home for 14 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19.
- Watch for fever (100.4◦F), cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19
- If possible, stay away from others, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19
For At-Risk-Of-COVID Close Contact – follow the guidelines above or until the person at risk tests negative.
